Frequently Asked Questions

Is a speaker included?

Speaker choice is a personal thing, and there are so many options to choose from. We provide a high-quality cabinet so you can build your ideal cab, and you pick your speaker and how you want to finish it.

Are Tolex and grill cloth included?

Tolex and grill cloth are not included in our kits. Some of our customers finish their cabs with Tolex, while others opt for painting or staining the wood, or even leaving it with the natural wood grain. The choice is yours!

Is it open or closed back?

The back is split into thirds, and the cab kits include the top and bottom panels for a semi-open build.

Can I order a custom design?

Yes, we offer custom design services ranging from modifying one of our existing designs to building your dream rig from the ground up. For more information, check out our Custom Requests page.

Assembly

What tools are needed?

  • Clamps - we suggest a minimum of four clamps, but you can get away with fewer. At least one clamp should open to the longest dimension of your cab.
  • Wood glue
  • Philips screwdriver
  • Robinson #1 screwdriver
  • Hammer

How long does it take?

With your tools ready and our assembly instructions by your side, the cabinet can be assembled in an hour.

What type of wood glue do you recommend?

Any wood glue should work — Titebond, LePage, etc. Just make sure the pieces are clamped tight while drying, and keep in mind the working time of the glue.

What do I do with the screen? / How do I wrap the screen?

There are two ways to go about this. One way is to stretch the grill cloth tight across the frame and staple it to the back. You can then use velcro or magnets to attach the screen to the baffle if you ever plan on removing it, or you can screw it in from the back if you want it permanently attached.

In some cases (depending on the thickness of the grill cloth) the fit is just right and friction holds the screen in.

The second way is to adhere the grill cloth directly to the baffle to cover the speaker, and then have the screen sit in front as a trim/accent piece.
